Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land today announced that the Mobile Branch Office will be in Calhoun County to serve customers in the Battle Creek area on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1.

The facility is a full-service Secretary of State branch office and is handicapper accessible. It is hauled statewide on a 24-foot trailer.

It will be at the Battle Creek Veterans Administration Hospital, 5500 Armstrong Road. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Aug. 31 and 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 1.

"This is a convenient way for area customers to take care of business," Land said.

"I encourage residents to take advantage of this opportunity."

Following its visit to Battle Creek, the Mobile Branch Office will be in Schoolcraft, South Lyon and Ravenna. It has logged more than 100,000 miles since it first hit the road nearly eight years ago.

Land encourages all customers who have Internet access to check out the department’s online services at www.Michigan.gov/sos before visiting any branch office. For example, license tabs and watercraft registrations can be renewed online. Browsing the site will help customers determine requirements before they go to an office.
