Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land today announced that the Mobile Branch Office will be in Eaton County later this month to serve area customers. It will be in Vermontville and Eaton Rapids.
The facility provides all services found at any Secretary of State branch office and is accessible to the disability community. It is hauled statewide on a 24-foot trailer.
On Nov. 29 – 30 the mobile office will be at the Vermontville Fire Barn, 130 S. Main. Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 29 and 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 30.
It then travels to Eaton Rapids on Dec. 7 – 8. It will be at the Eaton Rapids Senior Center, 201 Grand. Hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days.
"The Mobile Branch Office lets us reach out to all corners of Michigan," Land said. "It reflects our commitment to deliver prompt, convenient service. I encourage area residents to take advantage of this opportunity."
It has logged more than 100,000 miles since it first hit the road nearly eight years ago.
Land encourages all customers who have Internet access to check out the department’s online services at www.Michigan.gov/sos before visiting any branch office. For example, license plate tabs and watercraft registrations can be renewed online. Browsing the site will help customers determine requirements before they go to an office.
