Mohawk Secretary of State branch office will open 2 days a week starting in May

Contact:  (Media Contact) Kelly Chesney 517-373-2520
Agency: Secretary of State

APRIL 11, 2006

Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land reminds residents that the Mohawk branch office will be open two days per week instead of one beginning Tuesday, May 2.

That schedule continues through September, when the office returns to service one day per week as it adjusts to the lower seasonal business volume.

The office at 36 Mohawk St. will be open:

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It closes for lunch from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. both days.

The Mohawk branch office opened in January 1999 and is the first full-service Secretary of State branch in Keweenaw County.

Customers who need to renew license plates can "skip the trip" to a branch office and renew by Internet, mail or touch-tone telephone. Easy to follow instructions are enclosed with the renewal notice.
