Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land reminds residents that the Mohawk branch office will return to service one day a week instead of two beginning Thursday, Oct. 5.

The office will maintain that schedule through March 2007. In April 2007, services will be offered two days a week as it adjusts to the higher seasonal business volume.

The office at 36 Mohawk St. will be open:

• Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It closes for lunch from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The Mohawk branch office opened in January 1999 and is the first full-service branch office operated by the Secretary of State’s Office in Keweenaw County.

Customers who need to renew license plates can "skip the trip" to a branch office and renew by Internet, mail or touch-tone telephone. Easy to follow instructions are enclosed with the renewal notice.
