Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land today announced that the Mobile Branch Office will visit Lansing Community College's Spring Fling event on Wednesday, May 2.

The mobile office visit offers students and visitors a convenient way to register to vote or access other Secretary of State services such as renewing a driver's license. It will be on the downtown campus from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. during the year-end college event that allows students to see what groups and activities they might be interested in joining.

"I encourage everyone to remember that your vote is your voice," Land said. "Students should make sure their voices are heard on election day and take advantage of this convenient opportunity to register to vote. We're also making it easy to take care of any other business with the department. It's all just steps from the college's classrooms."

The Mobile Branch Office has logged more than 100,000 miles since it first hit the road about nine years ago. The facility is a full-service Secretary of State branch office and is accessible to people with disabilities. It is hauled statewide on a 24-foot trailer.

Land encourages all customers who have Internet access to check out the department's online services at www.Michigan.gov/sos before visiting any branch office. For example, license tabs and watercraft registrations can be renewed online. Browsing the site will help customers determine requirements before they go to an office.
