The newly upgraded Delta County PLUS Office offers area residents enhanced services and convenience as the Upper Peninsula's second PLUS office, Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land said today.
Land welcomed guests and greeted employees at the office, located at 305 Ludington St. in Escanaba. She visited the branch during her tour of the Upper Peninsula offices and visit to the Upper Peninsula State Fair this week.
"Customers have told us they want more services available when it's convenient for them," Land said. "Delta County's new PLUS office shows we're listening by expanding what branches offer and the hours they're open. I love our new PLUS offices because they're a new kind of office tailored to what customers expect in the 21st century."
The Escanaba branch has been upgraded to a PLUS office under Land's Branch Modernization Program. It now features instant titles, payment by Discover credit card at the counter, the ability to purchase your own driving record on site, and a Self-Service Station for tab renewals, which the Delta County PLUS Office will receive in the near future.
PLUS offices also are open additional hours on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Upper Peninsula's other PLUS office is in Marquette.
Land reminds residents who have Internet access to check out the department's online services at www.Michigan.gov/sos before visiting any branch office. For example, license tabs and watercraft registrations can be renewed online. Browsing the site will help customers determine requirements before they go to an office.
