Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land today announced that the Mobile Branch Office will be in Branch County to serve customers at the Coldwater Car and Cycle Show and Swap Meet on May 9 and 10.

Hours are 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, May 9, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 10. The car show will be at the Branch County 4-H Fairgrounds, 262 Sprague St. The show has brought hot rods, muscle cars, antiques and other custom vehicles to the Coldwater area for 20 years. It is sponsored by the Branch County Area Chamber of Commerce.

"I encourage customers at the show to take advantage of this convenient option to conduct their Department of State business," Land said. "The mobile office is a great example of how we're offering service options close to you."

The facility is a full-service Secretary of State branch office and is accessible to people with disabilities. It is hauled statewide on a 24-foot trailer that has logged more than 125,000 miles since it first hit the road more than 10 years ago.

Land encourages all customers who have Internet access to check out the department's online services at www.Michigan.gov/sos before visiting any branch office. For example, license tabs and watercraft registrations can be renewed online. Browsing the site will help customers determine requirements before they go to an office.
