SEPTEMBER 24, 2008
The new West Oakland County PLUS Office in Highland opened
today, giving Oakland and Livingston county customers extended Wednesday hours
and more services in their area, Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land announced.
"The new West Oakland County PLUS Office offers what
customers expect in the 21st century with its additional hours and expanded
services," Land said. "Our PLUS offices show we're listening to customers when
they tell us they want convenient services that meet their busy schedule. The
office even features a Self-Service Station available 24 hours a day."
Other benefits of the new PLUS office at 672 N. Milford
Road, include instant titles, payment by MasterCard and Discover at the counter,
the ability to purchase your own driving record on site and a Self-Service
Station for tab renewals. The office also has added hours on Wednesdays from 9
a.m. to 7 p.m. and on-site driver assessment personnel who perform driver
re-examinations by appointment.
The West Oakland office was formed by consolidating the
offices in Milford and Waterford, and it opens one week ahead of the new North
Oakland County PLUS Office (due to open Oct. 1) in Clarkston. Already Oakland
County is served by the Oakland County SUPER!Center in Pontiac, two other PLUS
offices in Novi and Oak Park, and six traditional offices.
Land reminds residents who have Internet access to check
out the Department's online services and
Branch Office Locator
at www.Michigan.gov/sos before visiting any office. For
example, license tabs and watercraft registrations can be renewed online.
Browsing the site helps customers know what documents they'll need to bring when
they go to an office.
