FAQ
  Branch Offices
What methods of payment are accepted at local Secretary of State offices?

Answer:
Secretary of State offices accept cash, checks or money orders made payable to the "State of Michigan." PLUS offices and SUPER!Centers also take Discover and MasterCard at the counter. A nominal 2-percent service fee will be charged when using Discover or MasterCard.

PLUS offices and SUPER!Centers also offer a Self-Service Station for license plate renewals.  Self-Service Stations accept Visa, MasterCard or Discover. Service fees are not charged when using a credit card at a Self-Service Station, online or by mail because these systems lower administrative costs and reduce the need for face-to-face transactions.  To locate the nearest PLUS office or SUPER!Center, follow the Branch Office Locator link shown below.
