FAQ
  Vehicles
How do I report the disposition of a vehicle in my custody?

Answer:

You must report the disposition of the vehicle in a timely manner to the law enforcement agency that authorized the vehicle's removal. If you have an agreement with the law enforcement agency, you must comply with that agreement. You must also report the disposition on the Secretary of State's Michigan Auto Lost & Found Web site if you are an EFT custodian. If you are not an EFT custodian you will not be able to enter a disposition on the Secretary of State's Michigan Auto Lost & Found Web site. To become an EFT custodian please see: Obtain a form to set up an Electronic Funds Transfer Account.
