Neither Michigan law nor the Secretary of State set the storage and customary fees. If the owner of an abandoned vehicle requests a hearing on the reasonableness of the fees, a court will decide if they are reasonable and customary. Your charges must include the $40 Abandoned Vehicle Fee, and some municipalities require additional fees.
