If I have a vehicle in my possession that was involved in a crash, had been stolen or seized for evidence, when should I report the vehicle to law enforcement as abandoned?

Answer:

Once law enforcement has provided you with authorization to release the vehicle to the owner, you must wait between 20 -- 30 days to report the vehicle as abandoned if the owner does not redeem it.
