Will I be required to show any identification when I get fingerprinted?
 
Answer:

Before you are fingerprinted, you will be required to show two forms of identification. TSA has provided a list of acceptable forms of identification. You may show either:

  • One form of identification from the TSA list of primary identifications and one form from the list of secondary identifications, or
  • Two forms of identification from the TSA list of primary identifications.

Primary List

  • U.S. Passport (must be current and valid)
  • Certificate of Naturalization(INS Form N-550 or N-570)
  • Unexpired foreign passport, with I-551 stamp or attached INS Form I-94 indicating unexpired employment authorization
  • Driver's license or ID card issued by a state, provided it contains a photograph or information such as name, date of birth, gender, height, eye color and address
  • U.S. Military/Retiree ID Card
  • Military dependent's ID card
  • ID card issued by federal, state or local government agencies or entities, provided it contains a photograph or information such as name, date of birth, gender, height, eye color and address
  • Certificate of U.S. Citizenship (INS Form N-560 or N-561)
  • Permanent Resident Card or Alien Registration Receipt Card with photograph (INS Form I-151 or I-551)
  • U.S. Adoption papers

Secondary List

  • Voter's registration card
  • U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Card
  • U.S. Social Security card issued by the Social Security Administration (other than a card stating it is not valid for employment)
  • Original or certified copy of a birth certificate issued by a state, county, municipal authority or outlying possession of the United States, bearing an official seal
  • U.S. Citizen ID Card (INS Form I-197)
  • Native American tribal document
  • Certificate of Birth Abroad issued by the Department of State (Form FS-545 or Form DS-1350)
  • US Military Discharge papers (DD 214)
  • Civil Marriage Certificate
  • DOT Medical Card
