FAQ
  New Michigan Residents
How long do I have before I must change my out-of-state driver's license, vehicle title and registration?

Answer:
You will need to visit a Secretary of State branch office to apply for a Michigan driver's license, state ID, vehicle title and registration once residency is established.

You are considered a Michigan resident if you have a permanent home or employment in Michigan with the intention of remaining in the state.
