Note: To avoid paying a late fee renew before the current expiration date found in

The Department of State mails a renewal application, Motor Vehicle Repair Facility Registration Renewal, to all currently licensed repair facilities about 60 days before their current license expiration date. The license expiration date can be found in Box 4
of your repair facility license renewal application.
If the renewal application has not been received within 30 days of the license expiration date, the repair facility should contact the department's Licensing Unit at licensing@michigan.gov or (888) SOS-MICH (767-6424). A repair facility license must be renewed annually by making application and paying the renewal fee.
Your new license should arrive in the mail within three weeks after your application has been processed.
When you receive your new repair facility license, post it prominently where customers can see it.
