The Secretary of State offices at 728 S. 7th St. in Ontonagon
and 418 Mill St. in Munising will be closed for remodeling Monday-Tuesday, Sept.
26-27.
Customers and staff will benefit from renovations that include
new carpeting and a more customer-friendly counter design.
The offices will reopen at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 28. The
Ontonagon office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and
Friday, and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays. The Munising office is open
from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday with a lunch closure from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30
p.m. and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday with a lunch closure from 2:30 p.m.
to 3:30 p.m.
Area residents who need Secretary of State services during the
remodeling period may also visit the following offices:

The Marquette County PLUS Office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday,
Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday. The
Bessemer, Houghton and Newberry offices are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
The Newberry and Bessemer office close for lunch from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
each day, except on Wednesday when it closes from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The Secretary of State mails notices to motorists 45 days before their
driver's license or license plates expire so that they have ample time to renew.
Residents may "skip the trip" to an office by renewing vehicle and watercraft
registrations online or by mail. Details are included with the renewal notice.
