Board of State Canvassers to meet on September 15th

YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED THAT THE BOARD OF STATE CANVASSERS WILL MEET ON SEPTEMBER 15, 2011 AT 10:00 A.M. IN ROOM 424 OF THE STATE CAPITOL, LANSING, MICHIGAN.


Included on the Agenda will be:

  • Consideration of meeting minutes for approval.
  • Consideration of new political party petition form submitted for approval by the Socialist Party of Michigan, 2937 East Grand Boulevard, No.3, Detroit, Michigan 48202.
  • Consideration of new political party petition form submitted for approval by the Socialist Party of Michigan, 2937 East Grand Boulevard, No.3, Detroit, Michigan 48202.
  • Consideration of initiative petition form submitted for approval by Michigan Is Yours, P. O. Box 1522, Royal Oak, Michigan 48068. (Petition proposes to amend the State Constitution to authorize casino gaming at seven casinos located in Grand Rapids, Lansing, Detroit, Romulus, Benton Harbor, Saginaw and Port Huron.) Note: Petition form previously approved February 25,2011; resubmitted form contains modified proposal language.
  • Consideration of new political party petition submitted by Americans Elect, 1775 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Suite 1212, Washington, D.C. 20006; establish deadline for submitting challenges to signatures selected in the random sample.
  • Consideration of AutoMark Voter Assist Terminal and Ml 00 Tabulator modifications submitted for approval by Election Systems & Software of Omaha, Nebraska.
  • Such other and further business as may be properly presented to the Board.

A person may address the Board on any agenda item at the end of the meeting. A person who wishes to address the Board on an agenda item at the time the item is being discussed must submit a written request to the Chairperson of the Board prior to the opening of the meeting. Persons addressing the Board are allotted three minutes.
