Mohawk Secretary of State office returning to one-day-a-week service in November

OCTOBER 5, 2011Image: Our Customers are number 1

Secretary of State Ruth Johnson reminds residents that the Mohawk office returns to one-day-a-week service instead of two beginning next month as it adjusts to seasonal business volume.

The office at 3616 U.S. Highway 41 will be open on Thursdays only beginning Nov. 3. Hours remain 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a lunch closure from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

The Mohawk office opened in January 1999 and is the first full-service Secretary of State office in Keweenaw County.

Customers renewing driver's licenses, state IDs or license plate tabs also can do business by mail, or if eligible, online. Easy to follow instructions are on the renewal notice. License plate tabs will arrive by mail within seven business days.

For information about branch office locations and additional services, visit the Secretary of State website (www.Michigan.gov/sos) and sign up for official Secretary of State Twitter feeds (www.twitter.com/Michsos) and Facebook updates (www.facebook.com/Michigansos).
