• Finding a Repair FacilityYour regular auto mechanic, family, friends, neighbors and co-workers may be able to recommend a competent repair shop. And they may tell you which shops to avoid. Always get a written estimate of repairs before leaving your vehicle at a repair shop. This is your right under Michigan law. Getting a second opinion and comparing prices is wise, especially if the estimated costs are high. Michigan law requires all registered repair facilities to post a consumer information sign where it may be clearly seen and read by the customer.
| • Automotive Complaint Information and Form If you have a complaint with a repair facility or a vehicle dealer, talk to the owner or manager. When you bring a problem to the manager's attention, you may be able to work out a settlement.
