Time-saving self-service kiosk installed in Mt. Pleasant Secretary of State Office
JUNE 13, 2011
Renew your license plate tabs in less than 2 minutes
A Self-Service Station has been installed in the Mt. Pleasant Secretary of State branch office for license plate tab renewal transactions, bringing time-saving convenience to mid-Michigan residents, Secretary of State Ruth Johnson announced today.
Customers simply follow the touch-screen directions and scan the bar code on their renewal notice. Upon verifying the information and accepting the credit card, the Self-Service Station prints a vehicle tab and receipt for the customer. Single transactions can be accomplished in a minute or two.
"We're committed to using technology to make things faster and easier for our customers," Johnson said. "If you didn't save yourself a trip by renewing online, the Self-Service Station can still save you time."
The kiosk was installed June 8 in the branch, 1245 N. Mission St., and is the 73rd Self-Service Station in operation statewide. The machine will be accessible during normal business hours at the branch--on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Previously, the closest Self-Service Station to Mt. Pleasant was at the Midland branch office.
