Lapeer Secretary of State office to move July 18-22 to new location

New branch office to have more room for guests, staff
The Secretary of State Lapeer County PLUS Office in Lapeer will close for a week this month while it moves to a new location that features a larger floor plan for customers and staff, Secretary of State Ruth Johnson announced today.
The office will close from Monday, July 18 to Friday, July 22 to accommodate the move. It will reopen at 9 a.m., Monday, July 25 at 301 W. Genesee St., Suite 105. Customers of the new office also will benefit from public restrooms and 24-hour access to a Self-Service Station, which provides a convenient self-service option for customers renewing their license plate tabs.
Office hours remain unchanged: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
"The new Lapeer County PLUS Office is a great example of offering new conveniences for our customers while stretching every tax dollar further," Johnson said. "The office's new customer-friendly features will make your visit more pleasant and convenient."
Lapeer County residents who need Secretary of State services during the five-day relocation may visit the following offices:

The PLUS offices are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday. The Davison and Romeo offices are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
Customers who need to renew license plates can "skip the trip" to a branch office by renewing online or through the mail. Easy-to-follow instructions are enclosed with the renewal notice.
