New facility offers new features, larger area for customers

Lenawee County residents will see the fresh look and added conveniences of the area Secretary of State office when it opens Thursday, Dec. 15, at its new location, Secretary of State Ruth Johnson announced today.

The new office in the Lenawee County Human Services Building, 1040 S. Winter St., suite 2023, in Adrian will offer a customer seating area twice as large, customers public restrooms nearby and a Self-Service Station for convenient license plate tab renewals. The last day for service at the current location of 1114 S. Winter St. office, which is directly across the street from the new office, is Friday, Dec. 9.

The new office will share the building with a number of county and state agencies, saving tax dollars.

"The new Adrian office is a great example of adding customer conveniences while stretching every tax dollar further," Johnson said. "I want to thank county leaders for allowing us to use the Human Services Building. Being next to other government agencies adds to the convenience for our customers."

The hours of the Adrian office remain unchanged -- 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
