The local branch numbers were replaced with a single toll free number: 1-888-SOS-MICH (767-6424). Staffed Monday through Friday 8:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

- Phone call routing to service representatives who have the expertise best suited to addressing customers' specific issues.
- A program that lets service representatives spend time directly assisting callers rather than searching for customer data. It interprets verbal information and retrieves the caller's file, including call histories. (At the beginning of an operator assisted call, customers are asked after pressing zero to provide their driver's license or personal identification card number, which lets the system identify a caller and retrieve information about previous calls.
- The ability to assign customers a service number that can be used if a customer must call back.
- Self-service menu options for assistance with frequently asked questions such as branch office hours and locations. This is especially useful to callers after normal business hours.
Phone calls that formerly went to the busiest branch offices are now answered by the call center, which lets branch employees focus on customers at the counter.
