Adult day care centers that are funded by the Office of the Aging are not licensed. This office only insures quality care for adults needing supervision in areas such as distribution of medication, bathing, laundry, etc. Most of these centers are located at churches or child day care centers, etc.   When an individual takes care of a person in their own home, they should check with medicare for certain rules and regulations. The state does not regulate this type of service. Also, check with your local health department, city or county clerks office for possible permits or licenses.
