Required State Registration:

Building inspectors employed by a county, city or other unit of government for the express purpose of enforcing the state building code shall be registered with the Department of Labor & Economic Growth, Bureau of Construction Codes, Office of Local Government and Consumer Services; (517) 241-9347.

Further Information:

Registered building inspectors are required to have experience in the construction industry and maintain their registration through continuous education requirements that are mandated by state law.
