Inspection of mammography and other radiological equipment is regulated by the Michigan Department of Labor & Economic Growth, Bureau of Health Services at (517) 241-1989.

Disposal of medical waste is regulated by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, Medical Waste at (517) 335-8637.

Health facilities in Michigan require licensing and certification. Contact Michigan Department of Labor & Economic Growth, Health Facilities and Certification at (517) 334-8408.

Generally, Michigan does not impose additional restrictions on medical products which are regulated by federal standards. Nor does Michigan generally regulate medical products which are not regulated by federal standards.

When a business wishes to qualify for payment from Medicare, call (800) 633-4227; to enroll for Medicaid payment call (517) 335-5492.
