Advise others, either directly or through publications or other writings, as to the value of securities or the advisability of investing in, purchasing or selling securities, or who for compensation issues or promulgates analyses or reports concerning securities is required to be licensed as an investment advisor with the Michigan Department of Labor & Economic Growth, Office of Financial and Insurance Services; (517) 241-6350.

An investment advisor may act as a securities finder; [i.e.., one who participates in the offer to sell, the sale or the purchase of securities or commodities by locating, introducing or referring potential purchasers or sellers].
