Adjusting Agency Registration B. STATUTORY AUTHORITY: The Insurance Code of 1956 - Chapter 12 C. APPLICABLE REGULATION: PA 218 of 1956 The Insurance Code of 1956 D. SUMMARY OF PERMIT/APPROVAL PROCESS: 1. Applicability (activities that require the permit) Adjusting Firms are entities formed to coordinate and organize the services of multiple Adjusters, both Adjusters for the Insured and Insurance Adjusters. Adjusting firms are not licensed but are registered by the State of 2. Pre-Application Requirements N/A 3. Application Submission Requirements To register an adjusting firm, submit a signed letter, on company letterhead, stating the following:

Procedures and Time-Frame for Obtaining Permit or Approval Applications are reviewed and approved within 2 weeks of receipt by our office, unless further information is requested. 5. Operational Requirements Any change in registration must be submitted, in writing to our office. 6. Fees There are no fees for registering an Adjusting Agency. 7. Appeal Process Not applicable 8. Public Input Opportunities We encourage consumers to first attempt to resolve disputes directly with their financial service entity. If a resolution cannot be reached, our office can try to help resolve a dispute. A complaint form must be completed for for the type of financial service you are having difficulty with.
