This task allows you to obtain a Federal Employer ID Number (FEIN, also sometimes known as an EIN) for your business and enter it into the One Stop system.
This number is issued by the IRS and is required if you will have employees. It is also mandatory for your UIA registration. If you do not have an FEIN, contact the IRS Business & Specialty Tax Line at (800) 829-4933 or click the following link to be redirected to the IRS web site, where you can complete a simple application and be assigned an FEIN immediately. Once you have your FEIN, enter it in the text box and click Submit to store it in the One Stop database. This will help secure your business.
Each FEIN is allowed in the database only once. If you attempt to enter your FEIN and you receive an error message indicating that your FEIN is already registered, someone else from your company may already have entered it.
