AssessorThe Assessor Certification process is under the direct control of the State Tax Commission. Since the application process is complex (e.g., entry level requires a two year educational commitment, with monthly meetings, self-study, viewing web presentations, and monthly testing) interested parties are encouraged to review the process in detail under the headings "Assessor Education" and "Assessor Certification" on the Tax Commission's web page, at the following link: http://www.michigan.gov/treasury/0,1607,7-121-1751_2228---,00.html In addition, the Commission recently issued a Bulletin regarding Assessor Certification Requirements for 2011, which can be found at the following link: http://www.michigan.gov/documents/treasury/Bulletin9of2010_330524_7.pdf If questions remain after reviewing the information on these sites, the Department of Treasury can be contacted at (517) 335-3429. or Contact theCustomer Assistance Center Created/Updated: October 4, 2010 | |||||
