The Department of Human Services, Bureau of Children and Adult Licensing issues Child Care Center and Group and Family Child Care Home Licenses and Registrations to individuals, corporations, Limited Liability Companies, and certain government entities for the provision of child care services.
A. NAME OF PERMIT OR APPROVAL:
The following specific registrations/licenses are issued and regulated by the Bureau of Children and Adult Licensing:
Child Care Family Home (1-6 Children)
Child Care Group Home (7-12 Children)

B. STATUTORY AUTHORITY:

Submittal procedures, completeness and technical review, public notice requirements, comment and hearing periods, preliminary and final decisions, inspections, and processing times. PA 116 requires the Bureau of Children and Adult Licensing to issue a registration or license within 180 days of receiving a complete application.
