Required State Licenses:
Certified Underground Storage Tank
Professionals: A Qualified Underground Storage Tank Consultant (QC) must
employ at least one approved Certified Underground Storage Tank Professional
(CP).
Qualified Underground Storage Tank
Consultants: An owner is required to hire an approved QC to conduct the
corrective actions at a site where a release has occurred from an underground
storage tank pursuant to Part 213, Leaking Underground Storage Tank, of the
Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, 1994 PA 451, as amended.

Certification
Requirements for a QC : A business entity may
apply for QC certification at any one time within a calendar year with the
required documentation. Subsequent applications are accepted any one time
during a calendar year. There is no fee associated with the application.
The application includes guidance for completing a QC application.

Owners and operators are cautioned that the
approved QCs have been determined to meet the minimum qualifications necessary
to undertake corrective actions at LUST sites, and the MDEQ is not responsible
or liable for the performance of the QC.
