    Carpet Cleaning

    Required State License(s):

    There is no state license required for carpet cleaning.

    However, many local governments (cities, townships, etc.) do license these services. Contact your local city or township clerks office.

    For further information about the disposal of waste water, contact the Department of Environmental Quality at (800) 662-9278.

    Information about disposal of water/soap or any other substance that is discharged in a sewer, contact the local waste water treatment plant.

    If products are available for sale to the public, a sales tax license is required. You may call the Michigan Department of Treasury at (517) 636-4660 and request a 518 form.
