Foreign Salvage Vehicle Dealer License

Description:

Class H (Foreign Salvage Vehicle Dealer) - To operate in Michigan, a foreign salvage vehicle dealer must be certified as a salvage dealer for vehicles or parts in his or her home state and be licensed by the Michigan Department of State. A licensed foreign salvage vehicle dealer is authorized to buy or sell late model distressed vehicles or major component parts only at wholesale in Michigan. A salvage vehicle agent license is required to buy or sell late model distressed vehicles or late model major component parts at Michigan auctions and salvage pools, or through brokers. A salvage vehicle agent license is not necessary when doing business with other Michigan dealerships, provided the activity is wholesale only.
