    Fishing Charter Service

    Agency: Natural Resources

    Required State License(s):

     Licensed with the Department of Natural Resources, Law Enforcement Division; (517) 373-1230 if the vessel operates on inland lakes, regardless of number of passengers; or, if the vessel carries 6 passengers or less (not including captain and paid crew members).

    Required to have a ship's pilot license with the Department of Natural Resources or Coast Guard if vessel is operated by other than the renter.

    Other Licenses:

    If the vessel carries 7 or more passengers (excluding captain and paid crew members) and operates on the Great Lakes, it is required to be licensed with the Coast Guard. Contact the Coast Guard at Regional Exam Center; (419) 259-6394.
