A manicurist or nail salon is required to be licensed.  Persons employed in a manicurist or nail salon who offer manicurist or nail services are required to be licensed.  Contact the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, Bureau of Commercial Services at (517) 241-9288 for licensure information or visit our website at www.michigan.gov/cosmetology.

The owner should contact the local health department for inspection information about health issues for the salon.
