    Wood Stoves

    Required State License(s):

    Installers/Manufacturers are required to be licensed with Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, Mechanical Division; (517) 241-9325.

    The responsibility of the manufacturer is to check for UL testing and approval before shipping product for consumers use.

    Depending on the type of product sold, a sales or use tax license may be required. You may call the Michigan Department of Treasury at (517) 636-4730 and request a 518 sales tax form.

    Personalized sales tax returns and a payment schedule will be mailed within four to six weeks after the registration has been processed. For further information about this process, please call the Michigan Department of Treasury at (517) 636-4730.
