Getting Started

If you haven't been active recently, here are some tips to getting started:
  • Enjoy. Choose activities that you enjoy most.
  • Build. Gradually build up the time you are active by adding a few minutes every few days until you can comfortably be active for at least 30 minutes. Then aim for 30 — 60 minutes each day.
  • Increase. Gradually increase your time or intensity, as your activities feel easier.
  • Vary. Alter your activities by trying new ones.
  • Reward. Give yourself an incentive for being active by purchasing new clothes or a piece of equipment that supports your physical activity interests.
