Community Success StoriesNational Public Health Week 2006: A Collection of Success Stories from Michigan's Hometown Health Heroes
This report highlights 23 local initiatives to create a healthier built environment (e.g., the design of neighborhoods and manmade structures). It details their efforts to design healthy communities, increase access to healthy food, provide opportunities for physical activity, prevent injury and violence, and create cleaner air. It also provides an overview of these five focus areas as well as solutions and available resources.
