FAQ
  Individual Income Tax
I sent a check but it has not cleared my bank. Will the penalty and interest be waived if I show proof that I sent my payment on time?

Answer:

A waiver of penalty and interest may be considered if you provide documentation such as:

  • A copy of your check register or a carbon copy of the check and a copy of the bank statement supporting that the funds were available.
  • A replacement check as the tax remains due.
  • A letter of explanation (be sure to include your account number/social security number)

Mail the above information to the address that appears on your bill. Include a copy of your bill with your correspondence.
