Most definitely! The success of the state's new tax reversion system will require a significant - even unprecedented - amount of cooperation among Michigan's units of government. From beginning to end, we must work together to share information and valuable insights about ways to make the program work most effectively. As the foreclosing governmental unit for 51 opt-out counties, the state will be in a position to share helpful tips to the opt-ins as well.
In fact, a portion of the Michigan Department of Treasury's web site will be dedicated to issues being faced by opt-in counties, and a special email address will be provided for questions and concerns. And, as always, county officials can contact the department's Bureau of Local Government Services at (517) 373-3305 for personal assistance.
