How much farmland may I claim as my homestead?

If the gross receipts from the farming are greater than your total household resources, you may claim all of your taxes on unoccupied farmland classified as agricultural. Do not include taxes on farmland that is not adjacent or contiguous to your home and that you rent or lease to another person.

If gross receipts from farming are less than total household resources and you have lived on the land 10 years or more, all of the adjacent and contiguous farmland is considered homestead.

If gross receipts from farming are less than total household resources and you have lived on the land less than 10 years not more than 5 acres of adjacent and contiguous farmland is considered homestead.
