DIRECTIONS AND PARKING INFORMATION


DIRECTIONS TO VISITOR PARKING LOTS

Exit I-496 at Exit #5 (Martin Luther King Boulevard) From the East, turn RIGHT/NORTH, from the West, turn LEFT/NORTH onto MARTIN LUTHER KING (MLK) Blvd.

North Lot (closest to Building): Turn RIGHT/EAST onto ALLEGAN Street. The designated north visitor parking lot entrance is just east of Butler Street on your LEFT. Use the Pedestrian Mall sidewalk north of the parking lot and walk east to the elevated Plaza to enter the Ottawa Building. NOTE: Keep your parking ticket with you, not in your vehicle, as you will pay at the kiosk before exiting the parking lot.

South Lot (Michigan Library and Historical Center Lot) (farther from Building): Turn RIGHT/EAST onto KALAMAZOO Street continuing to the Michigan Library Visitor Parking entrance on your left and follow the circle drive to the gated entrance. NOTE: Keep your parking ticket with you, not in the vehicle, as you will pay at the kiosk before exiting the parking lot. The Ottawa Building is north of the Library. Use the elevated Plaza Level entrance (west of the Hannah Building) to enter the Ottawa Building.

PARKING INFORMATION Hourly Rate $0.75/hour (maximum $7.50 daily) Lot/payment procedure:
  • Take your ticket to the automated pay station located on the parking lot perimeter sidewalk. These machines will accept cash (coins or paper up to a $20.00 bill).
  • Once the payment has been made, retrieve your ticket and receipt from the pay station and insert your ticket into the exit gate machine.
Visitor Parking for Persons with Handicapped Plates/Permits Visitor parking for persons possessing authorized handicapped plates/permits is available under the Ottawa Building, which may be accessed from Ottawa Street, one-half block west of Pine. To reserve a handicapped parking space on the date(s) of your hearing, contact Kathie Bennett at (517) 241-3333 at least 7 days in advance of your hearing date. Required information includes: name, vehicle manufacturer, model and color, license plate number, beginning and ending date of the request. There are a limited number of sites available under the Ottawa Building, assigned on a first come-first served basis. Additional handicap parking spaces are available in the visitor parking lots, which require a walk of at least one block.

At the entrance to the underground parking area, you are required to present a picture ID. Please have ready a copy of your Hearing Notice, if any, for reference and display. The security guard will direct you to the designated parking area. Take the elevator to the second floor and follow the signs to the Tribunal's offices.
