The State Assessors Board has provided an Internet version of the 2007-2008 six-hour renewal program which can be used to fulfill the 2007-2008 renewal requirement. The Internet version of the renewal program includes course materials and a mandatory quiz. To fulfill the renewal requirement for the 2007-2008 renewal period using the Internet version of the program, an assessing officer must successfully complete the mandatory quiz (i.e., achieve a passing quiz grade of 70 percent or higher).

Assessing officers have two options available to them with regard to taking the mandatory quiz:

1. Take the quiz on-line. In partnership with the Michigan Assessors Association (MAA), an on-line version of the mandatory quiz has been developed. This on-line version of the quiz is posted on the MAA Website. The on-line version of the mandatory quiz can also be used by assessing officers who have attended a renewal session held at one of the many locations throughout the state (i.e., use of the on-line quiz is not limited to the Internet version of the renewal program). 2. Obtain a hard copy of the quiz on-line and submit a completed Scantron scorecard by mail to the State Assessors Board. Scantron scorecards are not included with the renewal program materials posted on the Internet. Scantron scorecards must be requested using Form 4649, State Assessors Board Scantron Scorecard Request. Scantron scorecards will only be mailed to the address of the requesting assessing officer which is on file with the State Assessors Board. Please note that (hard copy) quizzes submitted without a Scantron scorecard will not be hand-graded and will not be retained in the offices of the State Assessors Board.

For those assessing officers using the Scantron scorecard option for the Internet version of the renewal program, please make sure to print your name and certification number in the box labeled "NAME" on the scorecard. In the box labeled "SUBJECT", write "Mandatory Quiz". In the box labeled "DATE", write "Internet". Other boxes on the scorecard should be left blank. The Scantron scorecard must be completed using a number 2 pencil. When completing the Scantron scorecard for the Internet version of the renewal program, failure to follow the instructions in this paragraph may result in renewal credit not being granted.
