State Assessors Board Members are appointed by
the Governor and serve a term at the pleasure of the Governor. The State
Assessors Board holds monthly meetings.
Lisa A. Hobart is the Assessor of West Bloomfield Charter Township in Oakland County. Ms. Hobart has served on the Board since 2000 and holds a level 4 certification in assessment administration, an ASA designation from the American Society of Appraisers, and a PPS designation from the International Association of Assessing Officers. She began her Chairpersonship in 2007.
Raman A. Patel is Equalization Director of Washtenaw County. He was first appointed to the Board in 2000 and holds a level 4 certification in assessment administration as well as an SRA designation from the Appraisal Institute and the CAE designation from the International Association of Assessing Officers. Mr. Patel has been in the field of assessment administration for 36 years.
Henry O. Allen is a longstanding member of the Board, having been first appointed in 1984. Mr. Allen served as Chairperson of the Board prior to 2007. Mr. Allen retired from the position of Michigan State University Regional Director for Southeast Michigan after 13 years. He also served as the County Extension Director for Genesee County for 10 years.
Maxine J. McClelland is the Supervisor of Big Rapids Township in Mecosta County and has been an assessor for 27 years. Ms. McClelland has served on the Board since 2001; she holds a level 3 certification in assessment administration. Ms. McClelland has served as the President of the Michigan Townships Association and the Michigan Assessors Association.
Frederick W. Morgan is the State Tax Commission representative on the Board. Mr. Morgan holds a level 4 certification in assessment administration and was Chief Assessor for the City of Detroit before being appointed to the State Tax Commission in early 2006. Mr. Morgan also previously served as Chief Judge for the Michigan Tax Tribunal.
