State Treasurer Names Stanton Press Secretary

State Treasurer Doug Roberts today appointed Terry Stanton as Public Information Officer for the Michigan Department of Treasury. In this post, Stanton will be the Department’s official representative to the public and members of the press.

Stanton has spent the last sixteen years working in the media, the last three as evening news anchor at WLNS-TV in Lansing. He started his television career in 1985, as an anchor/reporter in the Flint area, before spending three years at the NBC affiliate in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Stanton, an Owosso native, attended Central Michigan University. He and his wife Jo Anne now live in the Lansing area with their three sons, Brent, Ryan and Christopher.

"We are pleased to have someone with Terry’s background and credentials join the Department of Treasury," said Roberts. "We have always enjoyed a positive relationship with the media and Terry is the perfect person to ensure that continues."
