Michigan State University Police Request Department of Attorney General Review Case of Former MSU Doctor Accused of Sexual Assault

LANSING – At the request of Michigan State University Police Chief Jim Dunlap, the Michigan Department of Attorney General has accepted for review possible criminal allegations against Dr. Larry Nassar. This complex case is believed to have crossed into multiple jurisdictions in Michigan, and possibly across state lines, putting the Department of Attorney General in the best position to effectively investigate and prosecute this case.

Nassar is a former associate professor in MSU's College of Osteopathic Medicine and USA Gymnastics' team physician during four Olympic Games against whom accusations have been made about sexual abuse.
