AG Schuette Welcomes Next Detroit Police Chief, James Craig

LANSING - Attorney General Bill Schuette today issued the following statement regarding the announcement that current Cincinnati Police Chief and Detroit native James Craig will serve as Detroit's next police chief:
"I offer warm congratulations to James Craig on his appointment as Detroit's next Chief of Police. Public safety is the first priority of government, and I look forward to working with Chief Craig in his efforts to reduce violence in our state's largest city."
"We are fortunate to have his expertise, and I am confident Chief Craig will help his hometown turn the corner toward more safety, more jobs, and more security. Welcome and Godspeed."
