Energy Services grants help Michigan small businesses save energy, money

October 5, 2020

Energy Efficiency Day is Wednesday, and it highlights the benefits of energy waste reduction. The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy’s (EGLE) Energy Services has numerous energy-saving grant programs. EGLE will feature energy efficiency tips and program information every day this week.

Today’s Energy Efficiency Tip

Replacing old, inefficient or poorly operating equipment with new, high efficiency, premium or Energy Star models can significantly reduce your company’s overall energy bill. Taking advantage of utility rebates and Energy Star discounts will reduce purchase costs. Also, new equipment typically offers meaningful secondary benefits such as less maintenance, greater operational capabilities, and reduced waste generation, which further reduce operational costs.

Today’s Featured Energy Services Funding Opportunity

If you are a small manufacturer in Michigan, Energy Services’ Small Manufacturers Energy Waste Reduction Incentive Pilot offers matching grants to implement energy efficiency activities. The maximum grant is $25,000 per company, with a minimum 100 percent match. The grants fund diverse energy efficiency activities.
