2022 Wage Increase

Effective October 1, all MDOC employees will receive a 5 percent raise. This is one of the largest raises in department history and a recognition of the difficult and important work MDOC employees do everyday to keep this state safe.

This will bring the pay range for Corrections Officers to start out at $20.07 per hour to $30.75 per hour at the six-year mark. This includes a 1 percent raise that all staff received in April.

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s 2022 budget proposal reflects an additional $47 million for staff wage increases for all employees because of this generous pay increase.
